Meet the Allen, TX Dental Team
Chanin - Office Manager
Chanin is a longtime Allen/Lucas local—Lovejoy Elementary alum, Allen High School Class of ’87, and apparently not very good at leaving town! She and her husband, Chris (AHS ’86), raised their three children in the same community they grew up in and still call home.
They are active members of FBC Allen, where they spend Sunday mornings serving adults with special needs, and together they own Kelly Family Farms—so Chanin’s days often involve a unique combination of teeth, grass-fed beef, and family!
In her spare time, she loves being with her three grown children and their spouses. At Southern Star Dental, Chanin’s goal is simple: make every patient’s day a little brighter, share a few laughs, and hopefully make you forget—at least for a minute—that you’re at the dentist!
Hallie – Patient Care Coordinator
As the Patient Care Coordinator, Hallie is dedicated to creating a welcoming and positive experience for every patient from the moment they walk through the door. She enjoys building lasting relationships and helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident throughout their dental journey.
Known for her warm personality and genuine passion for helping others, Hallie believes that kindness, clear communication and attention to detail are the foundation of exceptional patient care. She strives to make every patient feel like part of the dental family.
Originally from Florida, Hallie has proudly called the Dallas area home since 2017. Outside of the office, she’s a proud mom who loves spending time with her family, friends and pets. Whether she’s at work or at home, Hallie believes a friendly smile and a little compassion can make all the difference.
Ashley W - Hygienist
Ashley graduated from Austin Community College in 2019 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She is happily married with two beautiful girls, HayesLee and Harlee, who truly are the light of her life. In her free time she enjoys anything outdoors with her family and loves going to the lake. Being a hygienist is her other happy place where nothing brings her more joy than making each patient feel confident and secure in their smile.
Angie - Hygienist
Angie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Texas Woman’s University in 2001. She is a lifelong Allen resident and graduated from Allen High School in 1996. Angie decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and pursue a career in dentistry. Her mother was a Dental Assistant for 40 years and planted the love for helping patients understand and achieve good oral health. Angie has a beautiful daughter, Hanna, who is on a competitive dance company and keeps her mom busy running her to the studio and to competitions often. Angie is so excited to be a part of Southern Star Dental and getting to know every patient and make them feel at home while at the dentist.
Ashley B - Hygienist
Ashley graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2022. She grew up in Allen and has been a part of Southern Star Dental family since 2021. Ashley married her husband, Nathan, in 2023, and they are members of FBC Allen. Outside of dentistry, Ashley loves to cook, travel, and spoil their kitty, Violet. Ashley loves to put patients at ease during their time at Southern Star Dental and make sure they have the best experience.
Emily - Assistant
Armed with a gentle touch, a sharp eye, and an uncanny ability to decipher what you’re trying to say while your mouth is wide open, she thrives on turning dental anxiety into genuine comfort. Emily is dedicated to changing the way people experience dental care. Known for her gentle approach and warm chairside manner, she specializes in easing dental anxiety and ensuring her patients feel entirely comfortable from the moment they sit in the chair. For Emily, the most rewarding part of dental work is helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles in a supportive and stress-free environment. By the time the weekend hits, Emily swaps her scrubs for running shoes and heads straight for the great outdoors.
Shelby - Assistant
Shelby has been a dedicated dental assistant for over 10 years and is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and cared for throughout their visit. She loves building relationships with patients and believes that kindness, compassion, and a gentle approach can make all the difference in creating a positive dental experience. Outside the office, Shelby enjoys photography, reading, spending time with her two daughters and discovering new music. She is currently continuing her education with plans to pursue a career in radiology, reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning and providing the highest level of patient care.
Maddie - Assistant
Maddie is a registered Dental Assistant who is passionate about patient care and helping people feel confident in their smiles. She loves creating a welcoming, comfortable experience for every patient and strives to make each visit as positive as possible. Outside of the office, you’ll usually find her painting, working on fun craft projects or spending quality time with her family and partner Keegan. She’s also a proud cat mom to her sweet cat, Binx, who definitely keeps life entertaining and holds a special place in her heart.
